More Chalkboard Chit Chat

So CSULB has this strange feature: many bathroom stalls have chalkboards installed in them. People then post the most random things, ( including me!) Here are a few more pics of some postings!

So Ive discovered CSULB’s memes Facebook page, and boy is it funny.

According to Wikipedia : A meme is “an idea, behavior or style that spreads from person to person within a culture.”A meme acts as a unit for carrying cultural ideas, symbols or practices, which can be transmitted from one mind to another through writing, speech, gestures, rituals or other imitable phenomena. Supporters of the concept regard memes as cultural analogues to genes in that they self-replicate, mutate and respond to selective pressures”

Here are a selection of  CSULB related memes. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do! Go Beach!!

March Madness

I recognize this is a little late, but hey, better late than never, right!!!!

Oh, James Naismith………sometimes I want to congratulate you on the invention on basketball. Other times, I could kill you for creating a game that steals the hearts and minds of so many during March. This year, you are in my favor, as both SDSU and CSULB were in the Sweet Sixteen. Sadly, they both lost in the first round and dashed my hopes of sporting glory.

Sitting in the Nugget Grill and watching the game ( and attempting to write a paper) will be a great memory. I snapped some pics with my camera phone of the crowds that day.

CSULB had a bunch of local news outlets reporting from campus. It was cool to see the students on the news. The energy was infectious!  Big props for getting noticed and acknowledged for having the coolest uniforms in the NCAA, according to a ESPN sportswriter.

Also, since I am a SDSU alumni, check out this SICK video by their student section and Tim Shelton….Shot at SDSU, if this doesn’t have you BELIEVING, nothing will. Aztecs 4 Life!

Spring Break Shenanegains

So my hubby and I went to Vegas for Spring Break. As the ad says: Image

But here are some things I can share. We saw Zumanity. Hot, hot, hot!!! These were not taken by me, rather pulled from a Google image search. The topless gymnasts in the martini glass was the coolest thing ever!

Also visually cool was The Chandelier Bar in the Cosmopolitan. ImageImageImageImageImageImage

We rolled up into the MGM Grand and literally ran into a press conference by Dana White and some other MMA/UFC fighters. They are beasts, but super nice. They signed autographs for everyone. Chillin by the pool and dancing around Vegas completed the trip. Viva La Vegas!

Things that make me go Hmmmm

So here are a collection of random things that made me stop, scratch my head and pause in confusion, amazement, or excitement.

These are, in my humble opinion, straight up hooker shoes. Nonetheless, I think they rock.

It’s always cool when the classroom is taken outdoors….

This was at the bookstore, on the first day of school of the Spring 2012 semester. Straight up crazy.

This was at the Nugget Grill ( a sports bar) what you can’t see is the television on the left, and of course it was turned to ESPN. I got a kick out of this random girl who came in, sat down, set up her little TV and just started to knit…. whatever floats your boat!

I was at the Starbucks in the library, and I guess my iTunes library get shared with those around me and vice versa. REALLY!!! I burst out laughing at this….

I am neither a fan or foe of Harry Potter, but I laughed at this trash can….

The word “the” would make this so much less funny…. or I could just be a 12 year old boy… this is posted outside the dugout at Blair Field.

This was so random, and yet cool. Out of nowhere, this falcon ( or hawk, who knows) swooped down, sat on a tree branch, then jumped into the leaves here and captured a lizard. In one gulp he swallowed it whole, then flew off into a tree. Not something you see everyday, that’s for sure.

Don’t forget to notice the small wonders around you! 🙂
